Wild Rover

I've been a Wild Rover for many a year,
And I've spent all my money on whiskey and beer,
But now I'm returning with gold in great store,
And I never will play the Wild Rover no more.

And it's no, nay, never (Right up your kilt)
No, nay, never, no more,
Will I play the Wild Rover,
No never, no more.

I went to an alehouse I used to frequent,
And I told the landlady my money was spent,
I asked for credit, she answered me "Nay,
Such custom like yours I can get any day!"

Chorus

Then I pulled from my pocket 3 gold sovereigns bright,
And the landlady's eyes opened wide with delight,
She said I have whiskey and wine of the best,
And the words I have spoken were only in jest

Chorus

I'll go home to my parents and confess all I've done,
And ask them to pardon their prodigal son,
And if they caress me as oft times before,
I never will play the Wild Rover no more.

Chorus

I've been a hell's angel for many a year,
and spent all my money on black leather gear
My bike is an old one but stands in good stead
How I wish I had been a wild rover instead!

Chorus

I went to a shit house I used to frequent
and told the attendant my penny was bent
I asked him for credit and he said "No way"
So I crapped on the floor and said "Sweep that away"

etc. etc. etc.
